Staff are friendly, accommodating for two young small children and were very polite. They provided kids cutlery. Food is tasty and served quickly. Spacious between tables and other diners.

During my time studying in Australia, Modu became one of my go-to spots whenever I was craving some authentic Chinese food. Even though Clayton Shopping Centre offers a variety of Asian food options, I’d definitely say that Modu stands out as one of the best. It’s the perfect place to satisfy those cravings for familiar flavors.My absolute favorite dish has to be the beef cubes in black pepper sauce. The beef is always tender, and the black pepper sauce adds just the right amount of kick without being overpowering. Another dish I highly recommend is the chili oil chicken — it’s packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice. Both dishes always hit the spot.Looking back, Modu holds a special place in my heart. If I ever have the chance to visit Australia again, this is definitely one of the first places I’ll stop by.

Quick and easy place for a meal. The food was served so quickly, it was delicious. I dare say that it was the bestcold chicken meal I had in australia, filled with nutty, spicy flavours. Also, i commend the owner for using beautiful plates and bowls. The staff was kind and friendly.

A great Chinese restaurant on the main strip of Clayton. The restaurant was blinded up so we thought the place was closed at first but upon opening the doors - a flourishing and busy restaurant was seen. The service was polite and efficient and the restaurant was clean. The menu was vast with clear pictures. We ordered the beef and bean curd with rice set. The beef was nice and tender and the sauce was delicious. We also had the kung pao chicken which was spicy and saucy. The chicken pieces were nice and tender. Our highlight of the night had to be the sweet and sour fried barramundi. The whole fish was massive and served perfectly with all the bones removed. Each bite had a satisfying crunch and with that delicious sweet and sour sauce this was simply a winner of a dish!!Will definitely be back to try some other dishes!!

Been coming here for several years. One of the best places for great tasting and quality Chinese food. Took a couple of prawns before taking the photo of the dish.

Very nice interior, warm & cozy environment. Overall food is very nice and service is good. The Mala fried fish is definitely the highlight of our dinner. We opt for mild spicy. The rest of the dishes are equally good. Ginger and scallion pipi, stir fry chicken with mushroom, stir fry cabbage, beef with dried beancurd, stir fried pork belly with chilli, sweet and sour pork. Highly recommended.

This is a Shanghainese restaurant...serving wide ranges of cuisines...not specific to Shanghai style dishes...they also do Sichuan and Cantonese dishes too...the flavours are spot on...very good food....we love their spicy beef rice meal set....the pricing is also quite reasonable....tastes absolutely smashing...highly recommended...will come back whenever we are in this area...
